Tower Hill Botanic Garden is a 132 acre public garden consisting of formal gardens as well as preserved meadows, woodland areas, and walking trails. And the arch in the logo celebrates the beautiful arches that you can find around our Garden throughout its architectural features.AWARD: AIA Delaware | Honor Award for Design Excellence | 1999 The new logo, an apple blossom in an arch, represents our historic apple orchard, a signature plant collection at the Garden. Hence, the term celebrates Worcester County Horticultural Society’s (that operates our Garden) long history and deep roots in Central MA since 1842. Additionally, ‘Botanic’ was used more widely in the 20th century. We used ‘Botanic’ in our former name (Tower Hill Botanic Garden), so we decided to continue to use the same term. However, some Gardens prefer to use ‘Botanic,’ and others use ‘Botanical.’ Why did you decide on keeping Botanic in the name instead of Botanical?īotanic and Botanical are both acceptable terms. And our Garden is a place where all are welcome to learn about plants and connect with the natural world. We represent more than our small hill we are leaders in horticulture, sustainability, and education. We want everyone to know that we have a comprehensive botanical collection that represents the best plant specimens in New England. New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill speaks to each pillar of our Strategic Plan-horticulture, leadership, and engagement. Improved our Entry Garden and expanded Vegetable Garden.Built an accessible boardwalk through Pliny’s Allée.Expanded the entrance to our Visitors Center to better inform and welcome guests as they move in and through our lobby.Created several ADA-accessible paths, including the primary path from the parking area to the Visitors Center.
